Our technician, Casey was exceptional from start to finish. From our initial consultation, the quote process, install, dog training, and explaining how our system works… We were completely impressed! He was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was working properly and that we felt confident using the system. Casey and Dogwatch have been more than accomodating, always quick to respond, and what a difference this fence has made in our lives! I was in love with it right away, the dogs - it took them a while, but they stay in the bounds of their acre yard and are able to have more freedom due to the electric underground fence. This past weekend our sprinkler service accidentally cut the wire. The dogs didn't know and carried on with their routine of habit - staying in the free zone of the yard. Even though it was the memorial day weekend he answered my plea for help almost immedicately. I hadn't expected it and didn't realize he had tried to get in touch with me until the next day. He was here very quickly and fixed it faster than I thought was possible. And he maintained that pleasant, calm attitude I associate with him. I can't recommend this business enough - the services and the pleasant attitude Casey always shows. Thank you to Casey and DogWatch!Posted on Google![]()

I’ve had my hidden fence for about 5 yrs now and its perfect for me and my fur babies. I’m outside everyday and my dogs can follow me around without fear of them Leaving the yard. Casey and his dad installed my fence 5 yrs ago and until today I’ve never had a problem. My contractor sliced through the fence and I called Casey. He was able to fix the connection and did a complete assessment of the fence. He gave me Extra batteries so my fur babies will always have collars that work.. Thank you so much. 🐕🦺🦮Posted on Google![]()

Tony installed our Dog Watch hidden fence when the GPS collars we had just didn't cut it. I had a large dog that did not respond at first to the hidden fence…ran through the fence line constantly. Tony came back and upgraded his collar to one with more prongs. This dog no longer runs through the fence line and has stopped chasing cars. We have two other dogs that responded to the fence immediately. Peace of mind knowing none of them run into the road or past our fence line anymore was worth the price of the fence 100%. Highly recommend!Posted on Google![]()

We have had an electric dog fence from Dog Watch since March 2022 we live on a large piece of property and have had no trouble with dogs crossing the line. We called for a repair and the service was great he found the break where a gopher chewed through the wire and had it back and running in no time. **Amazing product and service! ** We found out about Dog Watch 10 years ago. We lived on 5 acres and decided to get two husky’s. We found out Husky’s are quite the escape artist. We invested in dog watch and it was worth every penny! Our dogs are a part of our family and keeping them safe is important. We had coyotes and other wildlife around our property , Dogwatch kept our dogs in the yard, they never broke the line. We moved to Idaho and reached out to Casey and he got us all set up for the older dogs. Now we have new husky pup. Casey came over, set her all up and she is doing great. Casey has great customer service skills and you can tell he love dogs. We will never go with another product .Posted on Google![]()

Thank you so much for working with us and figuring out exactly what we needed. The indoor barrier dishes and flags work great as well as the invisible fence and flags. Your service was excellent and you are very personable. It was a pleasure working with you.Posted on Google![]()

We just moved into our new home and my dog quickly escaped into the neighbors yard, which happened to be Casey’s, the owner of DogWatch Hidden Fences. We knew we needed to install a hidden fence to keep our pooches safe and meeting Casey felt like a clear sign. Casey did a wonderful job installing our fence and our dogs haven’t escaped yet. So grateful for his services!Posted on Google![]()

I can’t say enough about how much we love our dog fence!!! We live on an acreage and now our dog can roam within the boundaries we set! We can leave her outside and know she’ll be safe and home when we get back. Casey was easy to work with and very polite and professional! We’ve had our fence for a couple of years with no problems at all. I just called Casey because in the process of getting gophers out of our yard we inadvertently cut the wire 🤦🏻♀️. It just reminded me how much we love the fence!!! Four years later and we’re still totally happy with our fence! I thought there was a problem as our dog started going outside her boundary so I called Casey and he did some trouble shooting with me over the phone. Turns out her collar just needed to be tightened a bit. I can’t say enough good things about the fence AND the customer service! We had a great experience with Casey of Dog Watch of Idaho. We have an acreage and a sweet dog that likes to wander. Couldn’t be happier with the system installed. Casey came out the day after I called, showed up when he said he would, was polite, knowledgeable and took time to explain everything, answer our questions and made sure we knew how it would work to avoid any disappointment. We have peace of mind now when our dog goes outside. Beyond happy with the whole experience and the safety of our dog!Posted on Google![]()

Casey did an outstanding job of planning exactly where the wire should go to cover the perimeter of our property. He don’t time with us to train Marley (our puggle) as well. I was skeptical at first that this would work, but Marley will attest to the fact that it’s awesome and she is now free to roam safely!!! Thank you so much!Posted on Google![]()

Customer Testimonial
We love the DogWatch system and so does our lab, “Bear”. We have trained him three times a day for seven days now. He is running in our yard and we are now training him to catch a Frisbee (which is going to take a little longer than the training for the DogWatch system!)

How Do DogWatch Underground Hidden Dog Fences Work?
A hidden fence is an underground dog fence system that uses an electronic signal to keep your dog within a designated area and away from potential dangers. An underground wire transmits a radio signal to your pet's receiver collar. Watch the video to see how it works!
DogWatch has been making Hidden Dog Fence systems since 1990. Our fences are sold and installed by our network of over 200 independent DogWatch Dealers worldwide.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do hidden dog fences work?
Hidden fences are created by burying a ‘boundary wire’ a few inches underground around your property. The buried wire carries a harmless, low level radio signal from a transmitter installed in your house or garage. Your pet wears a lightweight, waterproof receiver collar that recognizes the radio signal. As your pet approaches the buried wire, the receiver collar emits a warning signal (audible or vibration). If your pet travels further, he will receive a mild electrical stimulation (also called a “correction”) from the receiver collar. Through a training program, your pet learns to recognize his fence boundaries and learns to stop at the warning signal. Although there are differences in some of the product features, this is how all hidden fences work (DogWatch®, Invisible Fence® and other radio fence brands.)
With an indoor system, the hidden wire runs around your couch, under the lip of the counter, around the trash or across a doorway or wherever you need to create either a containment area or an “off-limits” area. We also have “wireless” indoor units that do not require placement of a boundary wire. Give us a call to discuss your options.
How does my dog learn where the hidden fence boundary is?
Training is an important part of the process. After we install the hidden fence, we work with you to train your pet. The training includes teaching your pet to recognize the containment area boundaries through a combination of voice commands, audible warning signals from the receiver collar and visual flags that are set in the yard where the pet hears the warning alert. With training, the dog remembers the placement of the flags and associates the flags with the warning signal. As your pet learns, the flags are slowly taken away. Your pet also learns that if he continues beyond the flags and warning alert, he will receive a correction (a mild electrical stimulation from the collar). After training, most dogs do not cross the hidden boundary; they usually stop before the warning signal to avoid the correction.
We will initiate the training and provide instructions and support so you can complete and reinforce the training. After the initial training, your dog goes through a training session with you for a few minutes each day for about two weeks. We will develop a plan to meet the specific training needs of your pet(s).
Will the stimulation from a hidden dog fence collar hurt my dog?
The “stimulation” from the collar is a sensation similar to the static shock you receive after walking across a carpet in your socks. It is a brief, unpleasant sensation designed to deter a pet from leaving the boundary. After training, most dogs do not cross the hidden boundary and thus do not receive a correction.
The electronic stimulation will not “burn” your pet. In rare instances, prolonged or improper use of an electronic collar has resulted in a pet developing pressure sores on their necks. This situation is easily avoided by ensuring that the collar is fit properly and removed regularly. DogWatch strongly recommends removing your dog’s receiver collar daily when not in use.
How much do hidden fences cost?
The cost for a DogWatch Hidden Fence is almost always much less than traditional fencing. The cost varies based on which system is right for you, the number of pets, the size of the property, how many sidewalk and driveway cuts, if you want internal “garden loops”, etc. Contact us for a free consultation and an estimate for your property.
In addition to costing less than traditional fences, hidden fences provide more flexibility and more secure containment than traditional fences. For example, you can contain your dog in your yard, but keep him out of a pool area, garden or driveway gate. Plus, your dog cannot jump over, chew through or dig under a hidden fence. And hidden fences don’t need to be painted and don’t deteriorate like traditional fences.
There usually isn’t much difference in the cost of a DogWatch® fence and other Dealer installed brands (such as Invisible Fence®.) Retail brands may seem to cost less than the Dealer installed brands, but they do not include installation (which can be challenging), training (which is very important), ongoing support or a good Warranty program. Also, Dealer installed products tend to be better quality than retail brands.
Is there a guarantee on the DogWatch Hidden Fence system?
We offer a Lifetime Limited Warranty on our outdoor systems professionally installed by DogWatch of Idaho. There is also a limited 30-day money-back guarantee if you are not satisfied with the system.
